Master Boat Builders Shipyard in Alabama Featured on Discovery’s Hit Series ‘Dirty Jobs’ with Mike Rowe

Master Boat Builders Shipyard in Alabama Featured on Discovery’s Hit Series ‘Dirty Jobs’ with Mike Rowe

January 12, 2022Posted by master0127in News

Episode Airing Sun. Jan. 16 at 8 PM ET/PT on Discovery and Streaming on discovery+

The hardworking master craftsmen and shipbuilders of Master Boat Builders, Inc. will be featured on DIRTY JOBS this Sunday, Jan. 16 at 8:00 PM ET/PT on Discovery and discovery+.

Mike Rowe, the eponymous host of the hit series ‘Dirty Jobs’, will show viewers the ins-and-outs of building workboats which are essential vessels that protect our waterways and ensure cargo moves efficiently up and down our waterways.

Specifically, Mike will highlight the importance of a particular category of workboat – the tugboat.  Tugboats can be modest in size but enormous in importance. We all rely on goods and products brought to us on container ships, and none of those ships would be able to make it in-and-out of port without the assistance of a tugboat.

“What an incredible opportunity it is to have Mike Rowe and the Dirty Jobs team right here in our community to showcase to America the essential work performed by our shipyard workers both in our area and across the nation,” said Garrett Rice, President of Master Boat Builders. “The shipbuilding industry plays a vital role in the Gulf Coast’s economy. Right now in our shipyard alone, we have dozens of opportunities open from ship-fitters to Project Engineers and many exciting opportunities in between, and our industry is ready to hire the next generation of the shipbuilding workforce.”

TUNE IN:  Along with streaming previous seasons on discovery+, viewers can join the conversation on social media by using #DirtyJobs and following Discovery on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok for the latest updates.

INTERVIEW AVAILABILITY:  Garrett Rice, President of Master Boat Builders, is available for interviews on the experience of having the ‘Dirty Jobs’ team at the shipyard, MBB’s local and regional economic impact, and general issues facing the shipbuilding industry. Interview opportunities are available upon request. Please contact MBBpress@nahigianstrategies.com if interested.
